Terms of Service

Last updated: May 22, 2026

Welcome to MeatGrader. By accessing or using our mobile application, website, and services - including our social features such as MeatMap, discussions, comments, and user profiles - you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Community Guidelines. Please read them carefully before using our service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, downloading our app, or using MeatGrader in any way, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use our service. If you are using MeatGrader on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

MeatGrader provides AI-powered meat quality grading, analysis services, and a community platform for meat enthusiasts. Our service includes:

  • Image-based analysis of meat cuts using artificial intelligence
  • Quality classification aligned with USDA grading terminology (not official USDA certification)
  • Analysis history and record keeping
  • Subscription-based access for analysis requests
  • MeatMap: A community-driven map of quality meat spots with user reviews and ratings
  • Social features: Discussions, comments, follows, user profiles, and community interaction
  • Educational content: Meat grading guides and learning resources

3. Account Registration

To use MeatGrader, you must create an account. By registering, you agree to: provide accurate, current, and complete information; maintain the security and confidentiality of your login credentials; accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account; notify us immediately of any unauthorized access. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

MeatGrader offers the following subscription plans:

  • Basic: $1.99/month - 10 analyses per month
  • Pro: $1.99/month - Unlimited analyses
  • Producer Pro: $19/month or $190/year - Unlimited animal records, branded animal passport pages, multi-photo carcass analysis, and verified producer profile
  • New accounts receive 3 complimentary analyses
  • A subscription is required to perform analyses beyond the free tier
  • Producer Pro includes a 14-day free trial. The trial is single-use per user account across all producer profiles owned by that account. Discarding and recreating a producer profile does not reset eligibility for a new trial.
  • Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account (iOS) or Google Play account (Android) at confirmation of purchase
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
  • Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the subscription price
  • Recurring billing is controlled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). MeatGrader cannot start, stop, refund, or modify your subscription on your behalf. To cancel auto-renewal, manage your subscription directly in iOS Settings then Subscriptions, or in the Play Store account menu
  • Pausing a producer farm in the MeatGrader app does NOT cancel your App Store or Play Store subscription. If you do not also cancel in the store before the next billing date, you will be charged for the next period even though your farm is paused. We recommend cancelling in the store at the same time you pause if you intend to stop billing.
  • You can manage your subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal in your device's Account Settings after purchase
  • Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription
  • Prices are displayed in USD and may vary by region; actual charges may differ based on your local currency
  • Subscriptions are non-transferable between accounts

5. Refund and Cancellation Policy

Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time. Upon cancellation:

  • You retain access until the end of your current billing period
  • No refunds are provided for partial billing periods
  • Refunds for In-App Purchases (Apple App Store, Google Play Store) must be requested through the respective platform's refund flow. MeatGrader does not process IAP refunds directly.
  • Pausing or archiving a producer farm does not entitle you to a refund of the current paid billing period. You retain producer access until the end of the paid period.
  • Technical errors may be eligible for refund consideration

Refund requests for non-IAP charges must be submitted within 14 days of charge to support@meatgrader.com. Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 5-10 business days. For IAP charges, please follow Apple or Google's refund process directly.

  • Harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate other users
  • Post spam, fraudulent reviews, or misleading content on MeatMap or in discussions

7. Intellectual Property

The MeatGrader name, logo, trademarks, and all software, algorithms, content, designs, and materials are owned by MeatGrader or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our service or intellectual property without prior written permission.

8. User Content and Community Features

You retain ownership of images, text, reviews, and other content you submit to MeatGrader, including MeatMap spots, discussions, comments, profile information, producer profiles, and animal records (collectively, "User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content within the service for the purpose of operating and improving MeatGrader. You are solely responsible for your User Content and represent that it does not violate any third-party rights or our Community Guidelines. We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines. User Content shared on MeatMap, in discussions, on a producer profile, or on an animal record may be visible to other users and to the general public. We do not claim ownership of your content and will not use your images for marketing or other purposes without your explicit consent. For producer profiles and animal records you create, you grant us the additional right to display this content on public meatgrader.com URLs (see Public Sharing below) for as long as the corresponding profile or record exists, including while a producer farm is paused. This durability supports buyers, printed PDFs, QR codes, and shared links that rely on the URL continuing to resolve.

9. Public Sharing via Share Links and Producer Profiles

MeatGrader includes a "Share" feature that lets you create a public web page for a graded analysis, spot, or discussion. When you tap Share on your own content, you explicitly opt that specific item into public visibility: a page at meatgrader.com/g/..., meatgrader.com/p/spot/... or meatgrader.com/p/d/... becomes reachable to anyone with the link and to search engines. Producer profiles and animal records have a different model and are public by design. The following rules apply:

  • Only content you tap Share on becomes public. Unshared content stays private to the app.
  • For analyses, the public page shows the photo you graded, the AI grade, scores, cut, expert notes, recommendations, and your display name.
  • For community posts (spots and discussions), the public page shows a gated preview only, photo, cut, grade pill, venue name, and display name. Comments, full body text, and additional photos stay behind the app.
  • Producer profiles you create are publicly accessible at meatgrader.com/producer/<slug>. By creating a producer profile you consent to public display of the profile name, location (city, region, country), contact information you provide, story or branding text, and aggregate stats such as animal count and top grade.
  • Animal records you create as a producer are publicly accessible at meatgrader.com/animal/<id> the moment the record is created. The animal page shows ear tag, breed, lineage, lifecycle stages, claims, photos, grades, and your producer profile name. The page is durable and continues to resolve while the record exists.
  • Public URLs for animal records and producer profiles continue to resolve even while a producer farm is paused. Pausing your farm does NOT remove these URLs. This is intentional so that printed PDFs, QR codes, and buyer-shared links remain functional after pause.
  • You can unpublish a shared item at any time from the app; the public page then returns 404 and we request removal from any caches or search indexes that may have fetched it.
  • You can delete a producer profile (only while no animals have been created) or delete an individual animal record at any time from the app. The matching public URL is then removed.
  • When you delete your account, or when we remove content for violating our Community Guidelines, the matching public page is removed as well.
  • We do not publish your email, payment details, location coordinates, or any other private account data on these pages.

NO ADVICE OR INFORMATION, WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN, OBTAINED FROM MEATGRADER SHALL CREATE ANY WARRANTY NOT EXPRESSLY STATED IN THESE TERMS. YOU EXPRESSLY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT MEATGRADER IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR PROFESSIONAL MEAT GRADING SERVICES.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for violation of these Terms, suspected fraudulent activity, or for any reason at our sole discretion. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon termination: your right to use the service ceases immediately; active subscriptions are cancelled without refund for the remaining period; we may delete your account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy; all licenses granted to you terminate; and provisions that by their nature should survive (including indemnification, limitation of liability, and disclaimer provisions) shall survive termination.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MeatGrader, its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and suppliers from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, debt, and expenses (including but not limited to reasonable attorneys' fees and court costs) arising from or related to: (a) your use of and access to the service; (b) your violation of any term of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property, privacy, or proprietary right; (d) any content you submit to the service; (e) any claim that your use of the service caused damage to a third party; (f) any business, purchasing, pricing, or labeling decisions you make based on analysis results; (g) any food safety incidents related to meat you purchased or sold; or (h) your negligent or wrongful conduct. This indemnification obligation will survive termination of these Terms and your use of the service.

14. Assumption of Risk

YOU EXPRESSLY ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT: (A) YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK; (B) YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DECISIONS MADE BASED ON ANALYSIS RESULTS; (C) MEAT QUALITY ASSESSMENT INVOLVES INHERENT UNCERTAINTIES AND SUBJECTIVE JUDGMENTS; (D) AI ANALYSIS CANNOT DETECT FOOD SAFETY ISSUES, CONTAMINATION, OR SPOILAGE; (E) YOU SHOULD ALWAYS USE PROPER FOOD SAFETY PRACTICES REGARDLESS OF ANALYSIS RESULTS; (F) MEATGRADER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE QUALITY, SAFETY, OR FITNESS OF ANY MEAT YOU PURCHASE, SELL, OR CONSUME; AND (G) YOU RELEASE MEATGRADER FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY RELATED TO YOUR USE OF ANALYSIS RESULTS FOR ANY PURPOSE.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts and waive any objection to venue in such courts. YOU AGREE THAT ANY CAUSE OF ACTION ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE MUST COMMENCE WITHIN ONE (1) YEAR AFTER THE CAUSE OF ACTION ACCRUES; OTHERWISE, SUCH CAUSE OF ACTION IS PERMANENTLY BARRED.

17. Class Action Waiver

YOU AND MEATGRADER AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. Unless both you and MeatGrader agree otherwise, no arbitrator or judge may consolidate more than one person's claims or otherwise preside over any form of a representative or class proceeding.

18. Force Majeure

20. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, constitute the entire agreement between you and MeatGrader regarding your use of the service and supersede any prior agreements, communications, proposals, or understandings, whether written or oral. Any waiver of any provision of these Terms will be effective only if in writing and signed by MeatGrader.

21. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. We will notify you of material changes by email, through the app, or by posting a notice on our website at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after changes become effective constitutes your binding acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, your sole remedy is to stop using the service and delete your account.
